Some home improvements will increase the value of your home for more than the original investment. We know this is often the case with new bathrooms and new kitchens, but what if you would like a home theater? Who knows what other improvements add value?
In some areas, and for some people, going to public places at night poses risks. This may be one reason why the entertainment centers in the home are becoming more popular. A harsh winter weather is another and a fan sports in the family is third! Another factor to add at present is that a large percentage of the purchase of real estate of the population are baby boomers, who may be more inclined to sit at home and watch a big screen TV!
In the choice of having a home theater, one of the rooms are literally abandoned. The decor in an average size of the room unnoticed once you have a giant screen and speakers that dominate the space. Furthermore, the additional generally less attractive seats in the room from a viewpoint of real estate.
For these reasons, you need a room dedicated solely to the home theater, and hopefully, still have a rec room or den available. If this can be accommodated, then the home theater could increase property values.
Of course, not all households can spare this much room. If this is the scenario then there is the possibility to hide the home theater unless in use.
This can be done by using smartly designed cabinets. For some systems, the cabinets have to be very large. This may require a one end of the room with door fronts that seem large room dividers. Another way would be to build a large wardrobe cabinet and effect. This will reduce the mess when the screen is not is in use. However, the room must be left for air to circulate around the equipment when not in use.
Several factors must be taken into account when choose a system and the evaluation of a space for this. If your site is large enough, you may require improvements that could mean acoustic decorate the ceiling, walls and floor. Acoustic sightlines (and for that matter) should be regarded not only for the back of the room, but also sideways.
Along with this comes the choice of speaker size and location, for example, want free standing speakers or built in ones? You may also want consider heavy-duty cables.
You have to choose the screen size, remembering that too much is as bad as too small. Find the distance is going to be sitting on the screen and follow the advice of the manufacturer. If you're too close to a big screen You will always see some distortions are lost at a distance farther. This is also deciding whether to consider purchasing a swivel of the screen wall.
Part of the professionalism of a home theater is the lighting and this includes light-proof curtains. From remote control lighting is great, so that the public – like you – can be granted, as the lights go down!
Finally, you have to think about decorating, shelving for all your DVD's, a sort of table and placement coffee table and of course lots of seats. The norm is for two large sofas on each side wall and three or four chairs, at the end of the room. This will enable ten people.
With respect to increased property, home theaters is a menu that can increase the number of viewers at home, but you can only add value to your home the buyer the right (unlike for example, a garage that adds value to the buyer almost everyone.)
One of the obvious ways to hedge your bets in this case is to choose the home theater equipment that is easy to remove and therefore can move in your next home. If you plan to do this you will need to ensure that technology is adaptable. It will also be well advised not to buy your equipment too large, because the next home is an unknown factor.
