Why is my guitar Bridge increase in background. (Fender Stratocaster)?
in the bottom of the bridge there is a rusty bar is rising of undernearth
Hello! I think what we're seeing is the tremolo block, which can be a little rusty or maybe just discolored. Most likely tuning to be changed or gone to a string gauge heavier, which puts a greater amount of tension on the bridge. All you really need to do is reset the block de trem springs, which is a routine maintenance task every time you put more or less tension on the bridge. The bottom of the bridge plate should be 1 / 16 – 1 / 8 inch away from the upper body, and what you describe, there is little space. Remove the back plate and locate the spring claw, which has one end of block trem springs against the body. Loosen the strings a bit and then tighten the claw screws clockwise, increasing the tension on the ropes. As you press, the tone will go sharp, and the bridge will come closer to the body. This is a back and forth exercise, where the final will have the strings tuned where you want, and the bridge to be the correct position. If you still can not get the proper relationship between the bridge and the body of the guitar with the screws fully tightened, you will that add either a spring or replace the existing ones with more springs. Although not directly related to the growing problem rusty bar, it is also possible that the bar truss may need adjustment, so you can view the site in http://www.fender.com/support/stratocast Fender … for details. In addition, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GD7zXzkr … has a decent visual to adjust the truss rod Stratocasters. None of this is complicated, so do not be afraid! Let me know if I can be more helpful, how Okay? Best regards, Dana
