What to do when the mother of his son hates his children from another relationship?
My girlfriend and I have been together for almost a year and a half and have been living together since sense. We have a daughter who is almost 6 months old. I have two children from another relationship I have with visitors on weekends. My girlfriend use to love and adore my children at first, but lately in recent months have shown, and said he does not like, but do not hate them. I have two sons from another relationship is 2 years old and 6 years old. My 6 year old, just got a cell phone and her mother on the phone every 10 minutes while she is over my house. My girlfriend and I think it is disrespectful and an invasion of privacy. My girlfriend always says she wishes she was only three of us … ie its I and our daughter we have together. She says she wishes that were not in the picture. I am a prince to my girlfriend and I always make them feel special as she is not insecure our relationship. Help!
I somewhat agree with GM, but try a couple of things first, such as counseling or something. She is being very selfish, although I understand your position because I've been there. But children are children and we must let them know that they did not ask to be in this situation! Not her fault and she has to try to be more understanding. Let him know that are so important to you and your daughter and if she is still having trouble with this MAYBE just maybe you do not needs to proceed. But not only break up with her "like it or not" … try to get to see your point of view and all adults need to see the perspective of children. Although it sounds like you may very well see if he could sit as a "family" and get children to talk and talk that could help.
