The saxophone is a musical instrument belonging to the category of wind. It is one of the youngest musical instruments invented by Adolphe Sax, a Belgian, in the decade 1840. Later, many people made their own alterations of the instrument. Saxophones were generally used in the military and in big orchestras but are now in bands also smaller. They are generally used for big band music, pop music and jazz. There are many types of saxophones but the four most common are: soprano, alto, tenor and baritone.
